There are so many great picnic spots to choose from along the coast path or on the beaches for Easter picnics. Two of Cornwall’s great gardens – Glendurgan (National Trust) and Trebah – are fun to explore, and their tumbling waters lead down to the beaches of the Helford passage making a swim before you picnic an easy option.

Whether it’s a great big Fortnum & Mason basket, or a Cornish hamper, or just a pasty and some of our Chocolate Rum Truffles or White Chocolate Gin Truffles from a bag, the spectacular views over the Helford still make your picnic feel like a feast. ​Rosemullion Distillery connects to Easter through our Chocolate Rum. This award-winning spirit was featured on Channel 4’s ‘Sunday Brunch‘ on Easter Sunday, where Ian Burrell (the Rum Ambassador) and their guests highlighted its unique qualities. Our Chocolate Rum combines the smoothness of rum with the richness of high quality dark chocolate, making it the perfect indulgence for the Easter season.

This is a 100% single pit distilled rum, aged with chocolate, raspberry and mango to complement the Cornwall rum taste. It’s 40% ABV and, say International Wine & Spirit (who gave us a gold medal making our rum among the best rum in the world) it is:

Made in our garden on the banks of the Helford we aim to make our dark rum as Cornish homebred as the seals seen basking near the river mouth. Rosemullion Dark Rum stands out against its competitors in part because of:

GIN, VODKA OR RUM EASTER DRINKS IDEAS

Here at Rosemullion Distillery, on the shores of the beautiful Helford passage in Cornwall, we encourage you to get creative with Easter cocktails, such as:

• Crème Egg Martini – vodka based
• Hot Cross Bun Old Fashioned – whisky based
• Gin Fizz with Egg White Foam – gin based
• White Rabbit Cocktail (a twist on a Brandy Alexander) – gin based

An Easter Cocktail From Rum & Chocolate Suggestion

N.B. The ingredients here are FOR ONE COCKTAIL ONLY so obviously multiply per number of guests who are up for your rum and cocktails easter drinks!

• 2 oz Rosemullion Dark Rum
• 1 oz Chocolate Syrup (or you can melt some good quality chocolate but ensure this is just before you serve so it doesn’t reform)
• 3 oz Whole Milk or Oat Milk if vegan
• 1/2 oz Simple Syrup (optional, depending on how sweet you like it)
• Ice
• Whipped Cream (optional, for garnish)
• Some chocolate Bunny Ears if feeling extravagant (that you’ve lopped off from a chocolate bunny) OR some Grated Chocolate.

Instructions:

1. Chill the glasses by putting them in the freezer for a few minutes before serving or by placing some ice in each glass (but ensure the ice hasn’t melted when you add the mixture).
2. Combine our dark rum, chocolate syrup (or melted chocolate) and milk into a shaker. Add a little simple syrup for anyone who likes their drink sweeter.
3. Add the ice and then shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and mix the ingredients.
4. Then strain the mixture into your chilled glasses, either over fresh ice or straight (depending on the look and feel you prefer)
5. Enjoy dolloping some whipped cream on top, then sprinkle with chocolate shavings or carefully position in your chocolate bunny ears or chocolate rabbits!
6. Serve your rum easter drinks to your fellow bunnies with a big smile and enjoy.
